Introducing: What to Cook Tonight, a new weekly newsletter with three delicious recipes for home cooks, using seasonally available (and affordable) ingredients.

After a lot of research, conversations, and thinking, it seems a hurdle we all face is the daily “what’s for dinner” dilemma. At least once a week we’ll get a text from a girlfriend that goes something along the lines of: “I have a cauliflower, chicken thighs, and half a bag of spinach — what should I make!?”. So, we thought about how we could create a solution.

Introducing: What to Cook Tonight. A weekly newsletter with three delicious recipes for home cooks, using seasonally available (and affordable) ingredients. For now, we’re going to focus on the southern hemisphere (sorry) but if there is enough interest, we will do the northern hemisphere too! Stay tuned and do let us know what you think about this.

We’ve designed the recipes to complement one another — reducing waste and saving you time and money. For example, one night you might make a curry and cook some extra rice that you’ll use later in the week for fried rice. Or if you use basil for one recipe and have some left, we’ll ensure you use the rest later in the week too. You get the gist. This also means that if you have a smaller household, you’re less likely to come into the “what do I do with half an onion” problem.

Why paid? We’ve spent a lot of time concepting, testing, and developing these recipes. Putting them into a weekly menu, writing shopping lists, cross-referencing local produce prices, and sharing ideas and methods for substitutions and variations all takes a lot of valuable time. We also want to be able to commit to giving you the best, most considered, thoughtful emails possible!

The idea is that we’ve done all the thinking for you, so you don’t have to. Giving you more time to enjoy your life — whether that’s sneaking in a yoga class, reading your book, getting out into nature, or spending more time with your family. The subscription price is $8 a month, and you can also get an annual subscription for $80.

It’s so easy to get stuck in a rut, eating the same dinners week in and week out. Our hope for What to Cook Tonight is to change that! Yummy, fresh, satisfying, nourishing and always flavourful dinners that make you excited to cook and eat. If any of this piques your interest, we do hope you’ll click the button below and become a paid subscriber!

The recipes are very much the way we eat at home — lots of vegetables, some seafood or meat now and then, and always really seasonal and fresh. We include ideas for substitutions or additions to cater to everyone's dietary requirements and preferences, and our recommendations on how to scale things up or down depending on your household size.

And don’t worry, our existing monthly newsletter will still be available for all subscribers — you can sign up to be a free subscriber at the link above.
